Growing up in South Shore in the 50’s and 60’s gave me wonderful and beneficial memories. I felt that I wanted to be able to help the kids currently at my old grammar school to have what I had as well.
Today’s South Shore area is distressed compared to my days of living there. I, as well as the other Founders wanted to try and share some memories we had to the current kids attending Horace Mann.
To help meet some of these challenges our alumni group decided to form a 501 c3 non for profit, the Horace Mann Alumni Enrichment Fund. (HMAEF)
Our focus isn’t solely on educational support like when we supplied backpacks filled with school supplied for everyone at the school. We found out there’s more involved for the teaching staff than just that. We helped with field trips, and making that 8th grade graduation more of memory, with 3 days of activates culminating with a dinner at Fogo de Chao for many this was their first experience visiting a restaurant of this caliber.
Please look further in our website to find the many other ways in which we have been able to help.
Please join our crusade, so we can continue to help the kids
Thanks
