I earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Arizona, and I am certified to teach eleven different sports.
In my third year of college, following a severe auto accident in which I shattered the ulna bone of his left arm, my doctor told him me I would never be able to play sports again. Undaunted by the diagnosis I challenged myself and his doctor’s prognosis by choosing to play handball which by its nature is a two handed sport. Within a year I was competing as a professional handball player. Over eleven years I earned a ranking of 7th on the Spaulding Gatorade Handball Tour.
As an international competitor I had the opportunity to experience top rated health facilities throughout the world. My own spa career began thirty-four years ago at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona, where as Spa and Sports Director my personal style integrated sports and lifestyle coaching always recognizing the continuum of mind, body and spirit. I treat each as interconnected parts of a whole using the vehicle of sports as a microcosm for life. My philosophy of health and fitness is to make exercise fun and fulfilling.
